  May update
Fourth graders are learning numbers from 0-100.  They will use the numbers to learn how to tell time, give the time, and ask someone "Que hora es?  What time is it?  Small clocks will be used in class for students to indicate the time they hear in Spanish.  A power point presentation will be used to practice what they learned.  A new song will be taught on time making it easier to retain the vocabulary.  They will also act out a skit, saying excuse me, asking someone for the time and saying thank you.
Fifth graders are learning professions and workplaces.  They can identify the profession and tell where someone works.  They are also talking about what some of their family members do for a living.  Students will talk about what they would like to be someday and why.  They will learn to talk about what various professions do by using new -AR verbs.
Parental support:
Please encourage your child to study, participate in class, and complete all assignments.  It is important for them to have a positive attitude and understand how important Spanish can be in their future.

Gifted & Talented

At the Gifted & Talented Show the students took the audience on various trips to Peru, Colombia, Santo Domingo, Cuba, and Puerto Rico.  At each stop along the journey, students shared information they learned about each nation.  Before departing for each destination, the students performed the national dance of each country which consisted of  “Cumbia” from Colombia, "Cha-Cha-Cha" from Cuba, "Marinera" from Peru, "Merengue" from the Domincan Republic, and  “Salsa” from Puerto Rico.

Until next month!

Sinceramente,
Sra. Vasiliadis
