{math} Math: We completed Chapter 6: Fraction Equivalence and Comparison in which the students tackled equivalent fractions, simplest form, common denominators, and comparing fractions. Along with our units of study we are completing timed Mathercises that are given weekly, as well as daily word problems. In addition, we are covering other concepts such as geometry, measurment, and data analysis through daily mini-lessons to prepare for the upcoming NJ ASK. In terms of what you could do at home, be sure your child completes their homework daily, has mastered their multiplication tables, and practices their computations (long addition, subtraction, multiplication & division). After state testing we will be beginning Chapter 7: Adding and Subtracting Fractions along with our Fraction Sundae Project.
{science} Science: We are learning about moon phases, electric current, state of matter, and other topics as well to prepare for the upcoming NJ ASK.
{history} Social Studies: We finished Unit 4: New Jersey Today.
At the end of the month we will be completing Unit 3: Progress as a State.

Every Friday your child should be bringing home a Friday Folder with a weekly report and graded papers to be signed and returned on Monday.

NJ ASK: May 7-May 11 Plenty of sleep, good breakfast, comfortable clothes, and be on time every morning.
