Message From The Principal

Welcome to the Piscataway High School Family!  I trust everyone had a healthy and restful, yet productive summer vacation.  Recently, I received a memo from the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) with the adequate yearly progress (AYP) status for New Jersey schools.  The NJDOE has calculated AYP based on the 2011 state assessment results and student test participation for high schools.  Congratulations, due to the efforts of our students, faculty, and families, Piscataway High School has made AYP!

Piscataway High School is continuing our high school redesign.  We have implemented the Freshman Foundation Program, and the Sophomore Experience. This year we are implementing the Junior Quest which has at its core the big question, “What comes next?”  Each member of the administrative team has been charged with the responsibility of helping to create a high school model that will align with the district goals and afford our students a rigorous, yet enjoyable program. We have been working in committees and individually to create a plan that will propel our students to the highest levels of achievement.

As we return to school, I encourage every student to get involved in a school sponsored activity or sport.  It will help to round out your education and expose you to a new group of friends.

Piscataway High School enjoys deeply established and rich traditions. We have effectively served the needs of our community for over a half-century.  Our mission affords each student the opportunity to reach his or her fullest potential in a safe and nurturing environment. We believe in individual dignity, the need for personal fulfillment, and the acceptance of one’s responsibility as a member of a democratic society. Striving for excellence has been, and will continue to be our goal. The learning our students receive here will provide them with a solid base upon which they will continue to grow and develop throughout their lives.  I am proud to be serving as the educational leader of this outstanding school.

Sincerely,

M A Wanko
