Welcome to
{Luperon} Ms. Beltran's Spanish Class!
A little about me:
I was born in a small town called Luperon, 5 minutes from the beach in the Dominican Republic.
In high school, I was proud to be part of Project Explore, a team that would present at national conferences, speaking mostly about the technological advances at the school, and also at that time developed the web site for the school. We even got paid to help the teachers learn how to use computers! I enjoyed working with Fred Carrigg, who was one of the forerunners of what became known as the No Child Left Behind standards. After high school, I attended Kean University. I came full circle of sorts there, becoming an ESL tutor for other students trying to learn the language. I was also the  cultural director of the Association for Latin American Students (ALAS), which I am still very proud of. I learned a great deal at this time. I graduated with many awards and recognitions, including “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.” I graduated with a degree in Spanish. I enjoy the everyday challenges that teaching brings, and sincerely believe in the abilities of each and every one of my students, and take both their successes and difficulties personally.
