Note: The Board opens its meetings at 7:00 PM and regularly convenes an executive session to discuss items that are specified in its motion to convene an executive session. The Board normally reconvenes in public session at 8:00 PM.

Committee Meetings begin at 7:00 PM with the exception of the Fiscal Planning & Operations Committee Meetings, which begin at 6:00 PM, and Community Relations Committee Meetings which begin at 6:30 PM.

Meetings shown as Agenda are intended for the Board’s review of the proposed Public Meeting Agenda. All meetings of the Board of Education shall be considered action meetings.

The Piscataway Board of Education encourages the involvement of parents and other citizens in its public schools. Volunteer ,, opportunities exist in all schools, ranging from library , , to classrooms, from parent-teacher organizations to Board of Education Committees.
Members of Board of Education Committees explore issues directly related to the operations of the schools and make recommendations for action to the Board. Listed below is a brief description of each committee and its function. Members serve for a one-year term and may reapply each year. Committees are advisory; decisions rest with the Board of Education.
  • Community Relations: Creates and executes initiatives to improve community awareness of educational opportunities available to all students in the district, while building communication between the Board of Education and the Community.
  • Curriculum and Programs (Pupil Services and Technology): Reviews curriculum, texts, and programs in order to recommend Board adoption, carefully considering the issues and research related to the education of all children.
  • Fiscal Planning and Operations: Ensures resources are allocated and utilized in accordance with the Board's short and long term educational and operational goals and objectives.
  • Legislative: Discusses and recommends Board responses to State and Federal Legislation and ad, vocates for those positions with elected officials.
  • Policy: Develops and revises district board policies as mandated by law or required for the daily operation of the district.
