Piscataway Township Schools Supervisor of Visual and Performing Arts Rebekah Sterlacci has been elected as the incoming president-elect for the Central Jersey Music Educators Association.
Under Sterlacci’s leadership, Piscataway has hosted the Intermediate CJMEA Orchestra Region Ensembles and Honors Orchestra Festival, as well as the Elementary/Middle School Band and Orchestra Festival for the past few years.
“I grew up participating in region and all-state ensembles and I know how important these experiences are for students,” she said. “I look forward to being part of the leadership team for CJMEA and to bringing outstanding music education experiences to central New Jersey.”
Sterlacci will serve a six-year term, two as president-elect, two as president, and two as past president.
“Congratulations to Ms. Sterlacci on taking this leadership role for the CJMEA,” said Piscataway Superintendent Dr. Frank Ranelli. “She has done amazing things for the students of Piscataway, and I am happy she will be able to bring that kind of dedication to help uplift students and educators throughout Central Jersey.”
