Eisenhower Elementary School has a new outdoor classroom thanks to the generosity of our community partner, Jersey Cares! About 15 volunteers from PSE&G visited on Thursday, Oct. 16, to build 2 tables, 4 benches, and an outdoor chalkboard adjacent to the playground. Soon after arriving, the volunteers grabbed the lumber and tools, and within 2 hours Eisenhower had their new outdoor furniture. Students coming out for recess wondered what was going on, so Principal Vincenzo Stio gathered them together to explain, and the children gave the volunteers a roaring, "Thank you!" Jersey Cares has done projects with several of our schools in the past and we look forward to more collaboration in the future!
