Try out for middle school winter sports
During the winter season we offer boys and girls basketball and wrestling for students in Grades 6-8. To try out for a middle school athletics team, the student must have a completed sports physical packet and complete the ImPACT concussion test.
MS Winter Sports Try-outs start on Monday, December 1st:
Try-outs/practices/games will occur at the following locations this winter season:
MS Boys Basketball – Schor MS
MS Girls Basketball – Conackamack MS
MS Wrestling – Quibbletown MS
Students from Conackamack, Schor & Quibbletown will be provided athletic shuttle buses at the conclusion of each school day to their sport's respective building MS for try-outs/practices. Students must provide their own transportation home after try-outs/practices/games from their sport's respective MS. Try-outs/practices will conclude at 4:30pm each day.

Sports Physical Information
To participate in MS athletics during the 2025-26 school year you must do the following:
1. Log into the Genesis Parent Portal to sign up for the sport of interest, then read and sign all agreements/consents. The 2025-26 winter sports sign up is currently open in Genesis. The 2026 spring sports sign up will begin in January.
2. Download or obtain a Sport Physical Packet which contains the Athletic Consent form and the Physical Exam forms. Parent/guardian must complete the consent form and the health history portion of the physical forms. These are the only forms that can be used.
3. Get a physical exam done by your Primary Care Provider (MD, DO, APN, or PA). Please bring the completed health history form to the exam. The provider must complete and document all parts of the exam. Physicals are valid for 365 days. All athletes must have a current valid physical to try out for sports. Students with a current sports physical need to complete the health history update packet for the winter and/or spring season.
4. Submit the Physical Packet and/or Health History update forms to your child’s school nurse or at the drop-off bin located inside the main entrance of the Piscataway High School - Anthony (East) Wing during school building hours.
Due Dates:
October 1-Winter Sports
February 1- Spring Sports.
Any sports physical packets or health history update forms received after the due dates may not be cleared in time for tryouts. Once tryouts begin, no new students will be added to the team.

ImPACT Concussion Test
The ImPACT concussion test instructions are posted on the district website under the “Athletics” tab. All students who did not play a MS sport last year or are on 8th grade and did not play a fall sport need to complete the ImPACT concussion test online.
